A chloroplast is an organelle that is found only in plant cells and some algae cells. It is responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which plants use sunlight to produce their own food. Since animal cells do not perform photosynthesis, they do not need chloroplasts. Instead, animals get their energy by eating plants or other animals that have eaten plants. So, chloroplasts are essential for plants but not for animals.
To be clear, animal cells do have other organelles that are essential for their functioning.

There are several organelles that can be found in plant cells but not in animal cells, including: Chloroplasts: These organelles are responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert sunlight into energy. Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll, a pigment that gives plants their green color.
